Fall Break was the best thing so far this semester.
It was so ballin’.
Let’s just say…roadtrip down to Atlanta with my cousin, ACF Large Group at Emory, Roadtrip with 50 other Emory (& some Spelman) students from 10PM Friday night to 5PM Saturday afternoon (no sleep!). Church at ACCCN to hear cousin speak, good Chinese food, roadtrip back to Vandy.
So, because my friends and I are all from different parts of the US (Cali, ATL, Dallas, Nashville, etc.), we have different experiences.
We often have conversations where someone will be like “You’ve never tried ________? Back home we have tons of blablablablaa,” or someone will see something and be like “WOW LOOK AT THAT! A MAN RIDING A 6 FT TALL BICYCLE!” or “MMM, I LOVE THIS FROYO!” or something along those lines.
Now, I hate to say it, but. Austin is just too easy to brag about. At first I would always respond and be like “Oh yeah, we have those in Austin too. In fact, we have three locations in Austin,” or “Yeah, there’s a dude that rides a 6 ft tall unicycle around our neighborhood,” or “Really? This tastes like crap compared to what we have back home…” But really, it’s just too easy. I could brag about Austin all day, basically.
For example, people are amazed by this ONE froyo place near campus. I’ve tried it multiple times and it tastes…not that great (they don’t even have mochi as a topping!!!!) They say they only have one frozen yogurt place back in their hometown, I can count ten in Austin off the top of my head. We ate “tex-mex” today that my friends raved about that was really just average…I would totally prefer Mama Gaines’ Queso.
Random Note: I miss H-E-B.
(P.S. It’s 2:17AM. Don’t mind my [crappy] writing.)
